General Screenings

NKFH conducts general screenings at various health fairs around the state.
Check our Events Calendar for dates and locations!

At General Screenings, NKFH provide:
  • Questionnaire for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) risk factors.
  • Blood pressure check
  • Free take-home test kit for protein (urine test for early warning signs of CKD)
  • Educational display
  • Informational brochures
If you are interested in attending a general screening in your area click here for a calendar listing or call (808) 589-5906.

If you are unable to attend, complete the electronic form below for a urine test kit or call (808) 589-5906

The take-home kidney test kit is a urine test that you can perform in the privacy of your own home.  The kit will help you determine the presence of microalbumin, a trace amount of protein that could indicate abnormalities related to kidney disease.

If your results are positive after following the instructions carefully, please see your physician to follow-up with further blood tests.

This take-home test alone CANNOT confirm or deny that you have kidney disease, but is a valuable tool to help determine if you are showing early warning signs.

For more information or to request a kit in the mail, please contact the Early Intervention Programs Coordinator at (808) 589-5903 or email jill@kidneyhi.org.

Click here for directions on how to properly use the take-home kidney test kit.
