General Screenings:
We need help in the following areas:

Provide valuable take-home kidney test kits to screen for risk factors

Perform blood pressure checks
-
Educate the public about the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, kidney disease, prevention and treatment

Prepare materials (e.g. assemble kits, prepare brochures, etc.)
*Note: We welcome help from both lay and professional volunteers. We also encourage those who have experience with kidney disease to join us as this is a wonderful opportunity to riase awareness and help those who may need more information. (i.e. patients, family members, etc. are welcome to volunteer).
KEDS/KEEP Screenings:
We need your help! Volunteers are needed for ALL areas of the screening!
Must be 18 years older (exceptions can be made for school groups, etc..)
No experience necessary for:
-
Registration
-
Ushering
-
Refreshments
-
Forms completion (assist participants with filling out forms)
-
Language Translation - Are you bilingual? We may need your help to communicate valuable health information to our non-English Speaking participants

Parking lot attendants
-
Office/clerical: prep or process paperwork, data entry, Xeroxing, filing, etc.
Some Background or experience needed for:
-
Physical Measurements: We need help from individuals trained in blood pressure measurement, waist circumference, weight and height measurements. Students Welcome!

Blood draw/finger sticks: If you are a trained and/or have experience in phlebotomy, we need your help! Venous blood draw and finger stick blood glucose readings are conducted at our screenings.

Urinalysis: Those with some healthcare training or background are needed to help process results from urine tests. (training can be provided)

Clinician Consultation: Are you an MD, OD, NP or PA? We provide a brief consultation with each participant to discuss test results in comparison to norms as well as provide general recommendations. (KEDS: RN, RD, PharmD welcome)
