A Mystery Dinner to Benefit

National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii

Friday April 25, 2008

5:30 p.m.

Event Theme:             Whodunit is a murder mystery party, set in 1946 at the original garden dining restaurant in beautiful Mo`ili`ili.  At the party, the beautiful, provocative dancer, Momilani Monsarrat is murdered.  The guests, with the brilliant British Inspector, Simon Hewgill, and homegrown wunderkind, Detective Fu Ling Yu, will need to solve the crime.  Whodunit will have the entire Willows Restaurant at its disposal, so guests will have an unusual opportunity to mingle, socialize and enjoy the restaurant’s unique ambience.

The Evening:               Cocktails and Silent Auction:  The evening will begin with cocktails as a strolling Hawaiian trio serenade and guests peruse an exquisite line-up of silent auction items.  The cast of characters including the talented Miss Monsarrat, her current flame, Lt. James McDermott, USN, several of their friends, the detectives, and, of course, the murderer will be present.

Dinner:  A lavish buffet including traditional lu`au food, roast beef tenderloin, shell fish, island curries and more will delight the guests.  Those seated at sponsored tables will enjoy an enhanced menu and table service.

Entertainment:  Hawaiian entertainment of the period will play throughout the evening.  There will be a short program, honoring members of Team Hawaii 2008, Hawaii’s entrants in the July 2008 U.S. Transplant Games.

The Murder:  The murder involving passion, intrigue, and suspense will take place sometime early in the evening.  The balance of the evening will be spent in interviewing witnesses, searching for clues, eating dessert, and other important investigative work!  How fortunate that Inspector Hewgill and Det.ective Fu are on the scene!

The Prize:  The 2007 prize was a 18K gold necklace from Tiffany & Co. and air travel for two anywhere Continental flies in the continental U.S.  The 2008 prize for the intrepid individual who solves the mystery will be equally worthwhile.
