When I think about the holidays, the first couple of thoughts that come to my head are: family, friends, fun and FOOD! But...we all have to be mindful when it comes to the holidays so....here are a fiew tips in which you can make your holidays healthier.
Make healthier modifications to old recipes, try out a new recipe that is healthier for you, practice portion control, eat lean protein and stay away from gravies.
Remember that you want to keep your restrictions in mind and speak to your doctor or dietitian about your current restrictions/concerns.
My Top Tips:
Tip # 1--Talk with your family/friends. Let them know what restrictions you might have and brainstorm about other food options that would be healthier for you and your family.
Tip # 2--Eat something small before going to your holiday party so you don't overeat. Snack on things such as apples, grapes, pineapple, unsalted pretzels, and tuna salad with crackers or graham crackers.
Tip # 3--Eat slow and focus on portion control. Talk and mingle with all your friends and family.
