The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii is creating a custom keiki cookbook featuring recipes from our community. We are requesting healthier keiki recipes that might be lower in fat, sodium and/or sugar. We know that nutrition is important to our health and would like to showcase a variety of recipes in our cookbook displaying nutrition facts and highlighting their healthier options. These cookbooks will be professionally published and are sure to be a treasured keepsake for us all. Our goal is to offer parents and children the opportunity to create simple healthy recipes to improve dietary quality and to educate families regarding nutrition. All proceeds from cookbook sales will be utilized for cookbook reproduction and classes that support healthy lessons from the cookbook.
Please submit your healthy recipes so you can be represented in our "Cooking with Keiki" cookbook. The more recipes we receive the better. You can submit recipes via email, mail or fax them in. Each recipe will be reviewed by our dietitian to ensure the recipes meet nutritional guidelines for our cookbook.
