Walk on the Wild Side Success!


The Walk on the Wild Side was held on Saturday March 11th.  The walk was intended to demonstrate the importance of regular exercise, like walking, for healthy kidney care.  KITV's Jordan Segundo spent the morning highlighting all the exciting aspects of the Walk on the Wild Side event.  Throughout the day, large numbers of people participated in all the events.  A record number of people were screened for kidney disease, keeping our volunteers and staff busy all day long.  By all accounts, the day was lots of fun and a success.

It takes a great amount of effort, resources, and time to put together an event like this. Many people and organizations have contributed to the success of this event.  We want to take the time to thank our many supporters:

March is National Kidney Month!  In celebration, the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii is throwing a party!  The Walk on the Wild Side is both a fundraising event benefitting the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, and also an invitation to enjoy the best of Chinatown in Honolulu, including a Historic Walk, Scavenger Hunt, great local entertainment, free kidney and health care screenings, and an arts and crafts fair by some of Hawaii’s most innovative artists. You can also look forward to some delicious food trucks on site.
