The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii is pleased to be celebrating 20 years of fighting Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Hawaii.  With humble beginnings, and a volunteer staff, NKFH began their journey to bring about awareness of this devastating disease.

Today, our staff has grown as well as our scope of services.  We have screened more than 25,000 Hawaii residents, and offer a variety of programs that service all stages of kidney disease, but there is still more work to be done.  With one out of every seven people in the state having CKD, there is a high likelihood that you, or someone close to you will be affected.  It's an accelerating epidemic, which threatens the health and lives of more than 40 million Americans nationwide, as well as 156,000 residents in Hawaii.

The good news is that we are proactively educating the community on greater health awareness and early CKD detection.  To learn more about the history of NKFH, and about the people that have made our successes all possible, visit Journey to a Cure Gala website at www.kidneyhiauction.com
