Each year, more than half a million people go to emergency rooms for kidney stone problems. It is estimated that one in ten people will have a kidney stone at some time in their lives. This one-hour class will go over the four types of kidney stones, symptoms and risk-factors, prevention tips, and treatments for kidney stones.

The kidneys are vital organs to keep our bodies healthy! Learn how the kidneys work, risk factors for chronic kidney disease, how to measure the health of your kidneys, and what you can do to keep your kidneys functioning well.

Eating Smart for Your Kidneys
Join us for this series about nutrition, grocery shopping tips, and easy, healthy recipes. Complete the course to receive a Foodland gift card! Mahalo to our supporters, including the City & County of Honolulu, Foodland, ChefZone, and the Leeward Community College Culinary Arts Program.
Schedule: Seats available for classes in August–December.
Length: 4 virtual classes and goal-setting with a dietitian.
Eligibility: Open to all adults (age 18+). Preference is given to Oahu residents.

Diabetes Prevention Program
Want to lose weight, prevent Type 2 diabetes, and take control of your health once and for all? Transform your lifestyle and become part of a motivated, healthy community by joining a Diabetes Prevention Program cohort led by an experienced Lifestyle Coach. Topics include eating healthier, adding physical activity to your life on a time crunch, coping with stress, and getting back on track with your progress.

Length: This is a year-long program. You will meet weekly for 16 sessions, every other week for 4 sessions, and monthly for the remaining 6 months.
Eligibility: Open to all adults (age 18+) who meet BMI and blood test score criteria. Please contact us for more information.
